Visiting Sirmione, the Garda Parks & Art Cities


In Sirmione you never get bored!

Our country is very quiet and safe, allowing you to enjoy a walk in the various places we have to offer in complete safety.

The old town of Sirmione offers many monuments to visit. The most famous monument definitely is the castle of the Scala family, from whose walls you can admire a breathtaking view.

There are also several churches: St. Anne’s Church, embedded in the walls of the castle, the Santa Maria Maggiore church, the church of San Pietro in Mavino within an area dominated by olive trees and the tranquility.

Sirmione is famous also for the Grotte di Catullo, the well-preserved remains of a Roman villa attributed to the poet Gaio Valerio Catullo. Inside you you can also visit the archaeological museum that contains artifacts from prehistory to the Middle Ages.

Garda Parks

Near Sirmione you will find many theme parks and nature.

The most famous park is undoubtedly Gardaland, situated in Ronchi, it’s large 445,000 m2. In this park there are attractions much adrenaline or more peaceful, suitable for children. There are also several themed restaurants and exciting shows. The park is visited by more than 2.5 million visitors each year.

A Lazise instead you can find in one place three theme parks. The first is the Canevaworld water park, with its adrenaline slides and its pools, including the famous wave pool. In the same place, there is Movieland, a theme park about cinema, with its attractions dedicated to the greatest film. Do not miss the Rambo Live Action, where you could find out how they are created the special effects in action movies. Outside of the two parks, finally, there is Medieval Times, where you can attend fights between knights, just as they did in the Middle Ages, enjoying a delicious menu composed by appetizer, soup, chicken and potatoes.

If you love nature, however, you can visit Zoo Safari Natura Viva in Pastrengo or the botanical garden Sigurtà in Valeggio sul Mincio.


Art Cities

Sirmione is well served by the motorway, the railway (stations of Desenzano del Garda and Peschiera del Garda) and the airport of Verona. You can visit the most famous northern Italian art cities: Verona, Venice, Brescia, Mantua, Cremona, Trento. All these cities are less than an hour and fifteen minutes by car. We can help you choose which cities to visit and how to reach them easily.
