Sirmione and surroundings

Sirmione

In Sirmione you will never be bored!

Our town is very quiet and safe, allowing you to enjoy walks in the various places we have to offer in complete safety.

The historic center of Sirmione offers many monuments to visit. The surely most famous monument is the Scaligeri castle, from whose walls you can admire a breathtaking view.

There are also several churches: the church of Sant’Anna, set in the castle walls, the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, and the church of San Pietro in Mavino within an area dominated by olive trees and tranquility.

Sirmione is also famous for the Grotte di Catullo, the well-preserved remains of a Roman villa attributed to the poet Gaius Valerius Catullus. Inside you can also visit the archaeological museum, which contains artifacts from prehistory to the Middle Ages.

Garda Parks

In the vicinity of Sirmione you will find many theme and nature parks.

The most famous park is undoubtedly Gardaland, located in Ronchi, which is 445,000 m2 large. In this park there are either very adrenaline-pumping attractions or calmer ones suitable for children. There are also several themed restaurants and exciting shows. The park is visited by more than 2.5 million visitors each year.

In Lazise, on the other hand, you can find as many as three theme parks in one place. The first is the Canevaworld water park, with its adrenaline-filled slides and pools, including the famous artificial wave pool. In the same place, stands the Movieland movie theme park, with its attractions dedicated to great films. Don’t miss Rambo Live Action, where you can find out how special effects are created in action movies. Finally, outside the two parks stands Medieval Times, where you can watch clashes between knights, just as they happened in the Middle Ages, while enjoying a menu of appetizer, soup, chicken and potatoes.

If you love nature, however, you can visit the Parco Natura Viva zoo safari in Pastrengo or the Siguratà botanical garden in Valeggio sul Mincio.
