CRASIRMIONE
In 1997 the Sirmione Municipality started the Centro di Rilevamento Ambientale (CRA) - Environmental Control Centre – with the precise aim of creating a precise reference point and technical support for the territory and its environment. The CRA is located on the western coast of the peninsula and includes a building of circa 90 square metres with three work stations, a meetings/presentation room and a laboratory for demonstrations and biological and physical-chemical type analyses. The centre, through an appropriate agreement made with the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) – the National Research Centre – because of its responsibilities in the management of the building (the Experimental  "Eugenio Zilioli" Station), carries out activities which are of priority importance for the municipality. In reality they are matters which have an impact on the entire Low part of Lake Garda in respect of the following aspects: air and water quality, environmental education, information on and valorization of the environment, the weather and the climate.
